Krell KAV-280cd CD PlayerThe KAV-280cd Compact Disc Player uses the hallmark Krell technologies of balanced circuitry and Krell Current Mode circuit architecture to produce unrivaled compact disc playback in its class. A full disc clamping transport feeds a 24-bit, 8x over sampling digital filter to produce an ultra-accurate digital rendering. Two 24-bit/96 kHz DAC's per channel and a Krell Class A analog output stage round out the player. A superb, three-dimensional sound stage anchored by deep, resolving bass is the result. The case is both beautiful and functional. Hand polished aluminum extrusions comprise the chassis. Finished in tasteful Krellcoat, the KAV-280cd is at home in a wide range of decors. Krell KAV-280p Pre-AmplifierThe KAV-280p is a superb sounding stereo preamplifier, the newest addition to the KAV Series of components. With the introduction of the KAV-280p, the KAV Series now provides customers with value added components from source to final amplification, for traditional stereo, multi channel audio, and home theater applications. Additional circuitry in the KAV-280p includes Krell's latest Class A direct-coupled design, with the entire signal path fully balanced from input to output. This includes a fully balanced volume control. Circuits are powered by a dedicated supply with discrete voltage regulators, and there is a separate, dedicated power supply for all digital control circuits. All signal switching is accomplished via hermetically sealed multiple-contact precision relays. The KAV-280p does far more than provide great sonic performance; it also provides a high level of operational convenience and functional versatility. The KAV-280p can easily adapt to future home theater applications using the unique Krell Theater Throughput feature, which simplifies integration into home theater systems. Balanced and single-ended inputs and outputs are provided for complete compatibility with source components, and Theater Throughput may be selected for all inputs. The preamplifier can be fully operated via a supplied handheld remote control. |

Krell KAV-2250 Power AmplifierThe elegant Krellcoat exterior hides the powerhouse that resides within this amplifier. Refined reproduction and overwhelming power defines the KAV-2250. Utilizing technology developed in the Krell Full Power Balanced amplifiers including oversized power supplies, Krell Current Mode circuitry, and balanced signal paths, this amplifier is ideal for use in stereo music and movie soundtrack reproduction. A massive 2000 Watt toroidal transformer delivers rock solid power delivery under any demand. The advantage of a single large transformer is that individual channels have access to the entire capacity of the power supply. A design using smaller individual transformers, while cheaper, limits each channel to its own transformer's lesser capability. If a channel's demand exceeds its own power supply's capability, the music suffers. With one oversized transformer, there is additional power available when a channel needs it--the music is never compromised. As a result the KAV-2250 has virtually unlimited power with 250 Watts into 8 Ohms and 500 Watts into 4 Ohms. The two channels of a KAV-2250 can be bridged into a monaural amplifier with a 1000 Watt (8 Ohm) output. |
