Monrio Asty CD PlayerThe Monrio Asty CD Player lets you experience your music on compact disc with remarkable accuracy, detail and impact. Inside the Asty CD Player is the latest conversion technology with a 24-bit DAC, chosen, after extensive listening tests, because it offers highly linear, very low distortion and wide dynamic range. Two power transformers for independent power supply for analogue and digital circuits are used in order to achieve the lowest possible noise. Multiple regulators in each supply – six shunt regulators are used in the output stage. Each component has been put to extensive listening tests before being approved for use in the Asty Player. Precision metal film resistors are used because of their low noise and Polypropylene capacitors are preferred in the output filter because they have demonstrated the lowest leakage and least distortion. Of course it includes a full array of convenient features, such as advance programming for up to 20 tracks, programmable repeat, and remote control of all the key functions. A co-axial Digital Output permits future upgrade, such as the addition of an outboard D/A converter unit. Monrio Asty Integrated AmplifierThe Monrio Asty is a true entry-level high-end integrated amplifier. All the signal circuitry is fully discrete. The output stage is a quasi-complementary topology, direct coupled bi-polar and uses high-current audio power transistors. The passive line stage provides lower sensitivity on line inputs. A generous toroidal transformer with plenty of reservoir gives shared supply to the two channels. The power transformer is provided by separate windings for left and right channel. In look and built quality, the Asty has been designed to be elegant and functional, easy to put in any audio system. Front panel and knobs are machined from solid aluminium, hand polished, silver-anodised and all casework is metal. In the Asty, all critical passive parts have been selected on the basis of extensive listening and are chosen primarily for their ability to yield the most transparent natural sound quality. The power-supplies used in the Asty have been engineered to give close to optimal performance with fast recovery cycles. It is musical, powerful and fast.
